Dr.Sumathi Narayanan was conferred “Eminent Woman Achiever” in Training and Communication by Rajalakshmi Institutions on the occasion of the International Women’s Day celebration on March 8, 2016 at REC.
Rajalakshmi Institutions celebrated the 105th International Women’s Day on 08thMar 2016. Eminent Women Achievers, Dr. Lalitha Balakrishnan, Principal, M.O.P. Vaishnav, Ms.Meenakshi Vijayakumar, Deputy Director, Fire and Rescue Services, Dr. Sumathi Narayanan, President, Creative Communication and Management, Ms. Renu Maheshwari, Financial Management expert and Ms. Mahathi, a renowned musician were all honoured with Women Achiever’s Awards.
They all gave very thought- provoking, humorous and lively speeches, elaborating on how they overcame the many hurdles in their careers and advised the girl students to work hard, perform well in their studies and contribute their might for the growth and welfare of the society in their own chosen professions. On this occasion awards given to three women employees of the institution who were acclaimed to be hardworking and sincere in their duties, added a touching note to the ceremony.
Earlier, Dr. (Mrs.) Thangam Meganathan, Chairperson, Rajalakshmi Institutions gave an inspiring presidential address high lighting the need for higher education for women and their increasingly challenging role in the society. The guests and audience were treated to lively music by REC’s very own Unison band.
